The content treadmill is a trap
The content treadmill is a trap
The advice is always the same: post more. Three times a day. Show up everywhere. Feed the algorithm. And so a generation of founders and marketers grind out content that says nothing, to an audience that feels nothing, in service of a number that means nothing.
Volume is not a strategy. It is the absence of one.
A point of view scales; output does not
You cannot out-post the entire internet. What you can do is hold a clear, slightly contrarian position and repeat it — with new evidence, new examples, and new angles — until you own it in people's minds. The goal is not to be seen the most. It is to be remembered for one thing.
What to do instead
- Write down what you actually believe that your competitors are too cautious to say.
- Find where that belief is already being debated.
- Show up there, in your voice, grounded in that belief.
- Repeat until it is yours.
That is not a treadmill. That is a flywheel.
